Naturally present in some seeds, grains, and fruit, squalane is also an important component of sebum (skin’s natural lipid barrier). It serves as a lubricant and moisturizing agent that protects from atmospheric damage and internal water loss. Amōriq uses a vegan, lightweight olive squalane to impart a silky skin feel, keeping skin moisturized and reducing transepidermal water loss. Commercially sourced squalane often comes from shark liver; however, our squalane is 100% COSMOS and ECOCERT approved, as it is derived from olives.
