Cold pressed from seeds of the ricinus communis plant, castor oil has been used for thousands of years. Ancient Egyptians were among the first to recognize its natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, using it for skincare, haircare, and treatment of various ailments. It contains Ricinoleic acid, a lipid that  is especially effective for deeply moisturizing skin and hair while also reducing inflammation and promoting healing. For skin, ricinoleic acid hydrates, soothes dryness, and treats skin conditions like acne and eczema. For hair, it strengthens hair follicles, reduces scalp inflammation, and stimulates growth while adding shine and reducing frizz.
